SAN ANGELO, Texas — Eastern New Mexico University senior Steven Aragon is seventh with 2,981 points in the decathlon after Thursday’s first day of competition in Angelo State’s David Noble Relays.
Aragon, the only ENMU athlete competing in the two-day event. finished third in the 100 in 11.91 seconds and sixth in the 400 in 52.68, and he was eighth in long jump at 18 feet, 2 1/2 inches, fourth in shot put at 35-9 1/2 and sixth in high jump at 5-9.
The decathlon will be completed today with the 110 hurdles, discus, pole vault and javelin.
ENMU’s full track squads are slated to compete on Saturday in the Texas Tech Invitational at Lubbock.
