A man wearing a clown mask robbed an Allsup’s convenience store of less than $50 early Sunday morning, according to Clovis police.

Police were called to the store at 1500 Mabry Dr. around 6 a.m. for a report of a clerk robbed at gunpoint, records show.

The clerk told police a “chunky” built male with blue eyes entered the store wearing a clown mask with gray hair on it.

The suspect was carrying a silver and gold semi-automatic pistol, police Capt. Patrick Whitney said.

Records show the suspect fled the store on foot.

Whitney said the clerk was not injured, and added the investigation is ongoing.
