Press release: Police hosting Neighborhood Watch; Code Blue meeting

One of the goals of the Clovis Police Department is to make Clovis a “Safer place to live, work, and play.” In doing so, the community is needed to be the eyes and ears of the police department. We are still in the process of starting Neighborhood Watch programs in the community and are recruiting for Code Blue.

What is Code Blue??? It is a volunteer program that consists of training, a ride along program and helping the police department deter crime. The group meets once a month and assists the department with special events throughout the community.

Working together as a community is the key to protecting our homes and businesses. “Making Clovis a Safer place to Live, Work, and Play” is not just for the police department, but also for the community acting as one to let criminals know we will take a stand and notify the proper authorities to protect our area.

I would like to invite anyone interested to a meeting so we can further discuss not only how to keep yourself and your home safe, but also your neighborhood. The meeting will be on July 27th, 2010 at 5:30 pm in the North Annex to the Carver Library. I hope to see you all there.

If you want to help your community and the police department in curbing crime in your area then contact the Clovis Police Department Community Relations Officer Parkin at (575) 763-9427.
