The city of Clovis will begin construction on 21st Street between Prince Street and Norris Street today.
The project is estimated to take eight to 12 weeks, according to City Engineer Justin Howalt. There will be lane closures during the period and drivers are being cautioned to seek alternate routes.
The project will cost $864,000, with $70,000 being contributed by the state.
The project will include drainage improvements at Wilshire and Avondale Boulevards, signal improvements at Sycamore Street and pavement improvements throughout. Also, the median at 21st and Prince streets will be replaced.
