The New Mexico MainStreet Program celebrated its 25th anniversary Saturday with an awards banquet in Albuquerque.
The evening brought together representatives from all 23 New Mexico MainStreet communities, national MainStreet luminaries and various local leaders to honor the program’s silver anniversary.
“New Mexico MainStreet has been a vital part of our economic development over the last 25 years, helping to create more than 2,700 new businesses and over 9,300 jobs across the state,” said Economic Development Department Cabinet Secretary Fred Mondragon. “Congratulations to all of our member communities on this silver anniversary, and a special thanks to program director Rich Williams and his team for their dedication to making MainStreet a success.
Handed out over the evening were five Awards for Excellence, five Friends of New Mexico MainStreet Centennial Legacy Project awards, and several individual awards.
