A Curry County inmate attacked his brother’s convicted killer Tuesday in the holding and booking area at the jail, according to an arrest warrant filed by Curry County Sheriff’s investigators.

Guadalupe Murillo, 28, who was being held at the jail on charges he stabbed a man Saturday at Wal-Mart, attacked Christopher Meier while he was handcuffed to a wall making a phone call. Murillo is being charged with retaliation against a witness and misdemeanor battery in the latest incident, the warrant stated.

Meier, who did not suffer serious injuries, had served his time for voluntary manslaughter in 2004 for killing Carlos Murillo, has been arrested since his release on separate charges.
