A 73-year-old who died when his trailer home caught fire Monday was wheelchair-bound and deaf, according witness statements included in a police incident report.

Porfirio Tenorio’s name was released Tuesday by police.

Police have said they believe Tenorio succumbed to smoke inhalation as he tried to get out of his burning home.

Firefighters extinguished the blaze before flames were able to spread throughout the home and found Tenorio’s body in a west bedroom of the trailer, where the flames had not yet reached, the report said.

Police said Monday it is believed the blaze was caused by electrical issues, but fire investigators have not reached an official conclusion.

An autopsy will be performed on Tenorio.
