The Clovis City Commission is holding a special meeting 8 a.m. Friday at city hall.
The city is asking for approval of a memorandum of agreement among the New Mexico Mortgage Finance Authority, the New Mexico State Historic Preservation Officer, the City of Clovis and Hotel Clovis Housing regarding the Hotel Clovis Lofts Project.
City Manager Joe Thomas said the memorandum is part of an ongoing process to allow the building to move forward on the project.
The commission will also consider the withdrawal of protest to a New Mexico American Water application made to the Office of the State Engineer. The state engineer’s office announced it was granting the water utility’s request for expedited emergency authorization to combine water rights in April. The city passed a resolution in protest of the decision that month.
Thomas said the withdrawal of the protest will keep the city out of a hearing to take place with the state engineer’s office next week.
