The blues group Soul Kitchen will perform Saturday night as part of Clovis Community College’s Cultural Arts Series.
The performance is set for 7 p.m. at the Clovis Civic Center.
Based out of Albuquerque, the group features vocalist Hillary Smith, guitarist Chris Dracup, bassist Marcus Casman and Drummer Bill Veitch.
Smith is a three-time winner of Albuquerque The Magazine’s Best Vocalist Award and her album “No Easy Way” received five 2009 New Mexico Music Awards, including Best CD of the Year, according to a press release.
Dracup has been recognized as Best Musician by Albuquerque The Magazine and is described as the driving force behind the group. Veitch and Casman, the release said, are accomplished musicians and recording artists.
“Soul Kitchen creates a dynamic blues-drenched sound that musically wanders somewhere between Saturday night revelry and Sunday morning redemption,” the release said.
Tickets are $20 general admission, $15 for seniors, military, students and children and can be purchased at the CCC cashiers’ windows, Clovis/Curry Chamber of Commerce, Cannon Air Force Base’s ITT office, at the box office the night of the performance depending on availability or by calling 769-4035.
