This month, Curry County is launching an alcohol abuse program to area elementary students involved in afterschool programs.
Titled “Protecting You, Protecting Me,” the program is part of MADD’s latest nationwide effort to prevent alcohol use by youth, according to a press release.
The program includes eight classroom-based lessons for each grade level and will be piloted initially in La Casita and James Bickley Elementary Schools.
The lessons will start with older students and eventually be moved to all grade levels, the release said.
