Banker honored by association

Gordon Morris, CEO of American Heritage Bank, was recognized as the Ag Lender of the Year by the Independent Community Bankers Association of New Mexico.

Morris has been working in the banking industry for 29 years. He, along with other local investors, founded American Heritage Bank in 2000 to provide community banking services to Curry County and surrounding areas.

The Independent Community Bankers Association of New Mexico awards one person each year for their significant contributions to the agricultural industry. Its annual Ag Lending Conference was held the weekend of March 25-27 at the Inn of the Mountain Gods in New Mexico.

“I am very honored to receive the Ag Lender of the Year award. I wasn’t expecting it,” Morris said in a release. “A successful agricultural industry in this region is vital for our economy, and it is important for us to support the small and large agricultural businesses here.”
