The agenda for Clovis Community College board of trustees indicates plans to offer a contract of employment to the next president of the college.

The offer is one item on the board’s agenda for a monthly trustees meeting today.

The board is working to replace retiring President John Neibling who announced in February that he will be retiring in August after five years.

Board Chair Charles Guthals declined to identify possible candidates.

When contacted by telephone, college Vice President Becky Rowley would say only that she has expressed interest in the position.

She was a candidate in 2005 and served as interim president when the board conducted a national search to replace Beverlee McClure, who left the college to become the state’s first secretary of higher education. The board chose Neibling on a 3-2 vote.

The board will also discuss a board meeting calendar, open meetings notice resolution, a tuition increase and emeritus status for Mike and Michelle Schmidt.

The board will also meet in executive session.

The meeting is 8 a.m. today in room 512 at CCC.
