Thursday morning briefing: Mrs. Clovis, biker bash and stringing the maypole

Good morning and welcome to the Freedom New Mexico Thursday briefing.

Mrs. Clovis

The search is on for the next Mrs. Clovis.

Once selected, the winner will advance to represent her community in the 2012 Mrs. New Mexico Pageant Feb. 4 in Albuquerque.

Applicants must be at least 18 years old (no age limit), married at the time of competition and a New Mexico resident. No performing talent is required.

The annual Portales High School Maypole ceremony is 8 p.m. today at the Portales High School gymnasium.

Open to the public, but no videos taping or photographs are allowed.

Get your motor running

The Eagle View Motorcycle Rally kicks off Friday and continues through Sunday on property just north of Clovis.

Live bands and plenty of games geared toward bikers.
