Good morning and welcome to the Freedom New Mexico Friday briefing.

That’s a burger

Taco Box’s green chili cheeseburger — once again namd one of the state’s best — is raising money for local charities.

Now through June 15th when you buy one at Taco Box of Clovis or Portales, Taco Box will donate $1 to United Way of Eastern New Mexico.

Cathy Hess was named Volunteer of the Month for May by the Roosevelt County Chamber of Commerce because of her work as chairman of the 2011 Relay for Life in Portales.

She helped raise more than $30,000 at the event for the American Cancer Society.

Hess is department secretary for the Health and Physical Education Department at Eastern New Mexico University.
