Officials: Bank consolidation should mean job gain

Officials for US Bank said their plan to consolidate two branches in Clovis should result in a small gain of jobs.

Following the close of business July 15, the branch located at 801 Pile Street will close. On July 18, services will resume at the bank’s location at 2501 N. Prince Street.

US Bank acquired First Community Bank Jan. 28.

Paul DiPaola, regional president for US Bank, said the Pile location currently has eight employees and the Prince location has five.

“There are no employee changes related to the move,” DiPaola said. “In fact, we’re expanding. We’re working on plans to expand the building 3,000 square feet or so to handle the new employees and exciting products that are coming.”

DiPaola expects at least one employee each to be added for mortgage, investments and private banking and trust divisions. The timing and number of employees added, he said, will depend on timing and market demand.

The building at Pile, he said, belongs to the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation.
