DairyFest will offer five hours of fun, entertainment, education and live music at the Curry County Events Center on Saturday.
United Dairy Women will host DairyFest 4 p.m.-9 p.m. at the Curry County Events Center.
The event provides free dairy products, games, a tour of the dairy industry and musical performances from the Fun Brothers Band, Colby Carter and Mark Chesnutt.
Events Center Manager Kevin Jolley said the event is family oriented and provides an up close and personal look at the dairy industry, from cow milking to sample dairy products.
“They do a lot of educational stuff about the dairy industry itself, because it is so important to Eastern New Mexico and West Texas,” he said.
Tickets are $1 at the door. They are also available in advance at the Re-Ink Spot, or free with the purchase of a McDonald’s Happy Meal this week.
Jolley said the proceeds from ticket sales go to charity.
“You get a lot off stuff for a dollar,” he said. “I don’t know that you’ll ever be able to see Mark Chesnutt for a dollar.”
Jolley said the last DairyFest drew more than 7,000 people and a similar size crowd is expected this year.
