A home fire Saturday night cause severe damage before firefighters were able to extinguish it.

Firefighters were called to the residence at Curry Roads 5 and L around 6:45 p.m., according to Fire Chief Ray Westerman.

When they arrived, the home was fully engulfed.

“It was defensive in nature upon our initial arrival and the house had severe damage throughout,” he said.

Westerman said it was an occupied residence, though he did not know if anyone was home at the time of the fire.

No one was injured.

The cause of the fire has not yet been determined, he said.

Westerman said the Red Cross was contacted to assist the occupants of the home.
