Clovis’ first steps to renovating the Youth Recreation Building in Hillcrest Park kick off this coming Thursday with a groundbreaking at 10 a.m.

There’s a bird presentation 7 p.m. Saturday at the Oasis State Park Visitor Center.

Wildlife biologist Holly Marchman is to teach about bird flight and identification. Bring bird books, binoculars and walking shoes .

Having adhered to the code of the West, Hickok was acquitted of manslaughter charges.
