The fourth annual performance of Clovis Community College’s Broadway-style singing class will take place Tuesday, promising a line-up of classic music selections.
Set for 7 p.m. in the college’s Town Hall, the performance, titled “An Evening of Classics,” will feature the stage singing of 14 students.
Instructor Caleb Brandon said the performance serves as a final exam for his students, who have spent the last eight weeks honing their music selections.
Free of charge, Brandon said the performance is family friendly and provides an hour of group and solo performances including scores from “West Side Story,” “Guys and Dolls,” “Anything Goes” and more.
Brandon said this year is the largest class he has had. Class participants are generally non-traditional students who have never sung before. The course includes singing instruction and choreography in preparation for a full-costume performance with stage sets.
“For those that have never done this before, it’s a very good confidence builder,” he said.
