Friday morning briefing: Rock the Park, Ike in Clovis and a fairy tale wedding

Good morning and welcome to the Freedom New Mexico Friday briefing.

Music, music, music

Rock the Park is four hours of contemporary Christian music and it’s from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday at Potter Park.

The National Corriente Cattle Show is all day today and Sunday at the Curry County Events Center.

Fast fact

Dwight D. Eisenhower is the only sitting president to visit Curry County — a 90-minute trip to the area on Jan. 14, 1957.

It was part of a drought inspection of the Southwest.

Eisenhower stopped at the Raymond Worrell farm eight miles west of Clovis.

Kitchen tips

If you accidentally over-salt a dish while it’s still cooking, drop in a peeled potato — it absorbs the excess salt for an instant fix me up.
