The Clovis Municipal Schools Board of Education will meet 5:30 p.m. Tuesday at the administration building, 1009 Main.
Agenda items include:
• A discussion of the name, mascot and school colors for the district’s new middle school.
Suggested names include Liberty, Bataan, W.D. Gattis, Llano Estacado, Robert H. McDougal, Clovis, and Jim McDaniel. Suggested mascots include the Patriots, Conquistadors and Thunderbirds. Suggested school colors are red-white-blue, turquoise-silver-white, and black-blue.
• A nine-item consent agenda, including requests for proposals on reroofing at the Clovis High School and CHS Freshman Academy campuses and for speech language pathologists.
• A report from Superintendent Terry Myers, including an update from Cannon Air Force Base, a report on Adequate Yearly Progress, and a consideration of selling property at 21st Street and Humphrey Road.
• Discussion of a $95,533 grant assistance reward from the Public School Capital Outlay Council to Choices Alternative School. Deadline for grant acceptance is Monday.
