Clovis Mayor Gayla Brumfield called her first “open hours office meeting” Wednesday a success, noting three groups of people stopped by to speak their minds on a variety of subjects, including restoring the Lyceum Theater.
“It’s something I’ve wanted to do for a long time now,” said Brumfield, adding the office she used at the Clovis Carver Public Library only recently became available.
Brumfield said the open meeting is the first of many she plans Wednesdays from 10 a.m. until noon at the library.
“I just thought it would be something the public might like,” she said. “If it works, we’ll continue to do it.”
Brumfield said open hours office meetings are open to anyone by either appointment or stopping by the library each Wednesday.
