Saturday’s Fall Festival in Portales will feature beer from an Albuquerque brewing company and crowd pleasers from last year’s festival, according to event organizers.
For the first time, Albuquerque-based Marble Brewing Company is serving up its versions of India pale ale, pilsner, red ale, oatmeal stout and a specialty brew at the MainStreet fundraising event at the Stargazer. The brewery is also planning to donate $1 to MainStreet for every beer sold.
The $15 admission fee includes a pint of beer and the festival is open to visitors 21 years old and older.
Clovis native Justin Cole, who plans to open a microbrewery in Portales, has been instrumental in signing the Albuquerque brewery to the festival, according to Portales MainStreet Manager Sandy Van Der Veen.
Returning to the festival is J4 BBQ, which will supply food, and Sunland Peanuts, which will supply peanuts.
“J4 BBQ was a big hit last year, so we wanted to bring them back this year,” Van Der Veen said.
For live entertainment, Van Der Veen contacted local musicians Don Thomas and Andy Mason to perform.
