Roosevelt General Hospital

The Roosevelt General Hospital Auxiliary Executive Committee met Oct. 19. The meeting was called to order at 10 a.m. following the gathering for members to receive free flu shots.

President Sid Philips opened the meeting with the reading of the Auxiliary Prayer. Minutes were read by Secretary Adele Breech; treasurer’s report was presented by Wanda Martinez indicating some outstanding bills. Both reports were accepted as given.

Philips reported a $1,000 contribution to the ENMU Scholarship Fund during the ENMU Foundation Homecoming Breakfast. At the breakfast, Philips accepted the Nambe platter presented to the RGH Auxiliary for being recognized by the foundation as the Business of the Year award. The plate will be in the RGH Gift Shop for the public to view. Do drop in to view it.

Three new members have joined. Erin Lee is delivering juices at Heartland. Harry and Pansy Jordan are working at RGH. More volunteers are needed.

Amber Hamilton, director of marketing and of SANE, also the AUX’s liaison with the hospital, made a presentation. She thanked the AUX for helping to select the Yucca design as the new design for the Hospital. She detailed the new web site the hospital is setting up. She hopes the patients will be able to receive cards that way once it is fully operational.

Hamilton’s second main point was the setting up of the new 501c3 foundation, which will be for the hospital. The hospital will be able to receive donations from family members, etc., tax free. She asked to call her with questions or suggestions on this foundations.
