Company invests in Tres Amigas

Global trading, IT and infrastructure services company Mitsui and Co. has agreed to invest $12 million into the Tres Amigas power grid project that will be located east of Clovis.

The transmission hub will connect American's three primary electricity grids — Eastern, Western and Texas — to allow better infrastructure for reliable renewable power.

The buildout of the $1.5 billion superstation is expected to occur in stages. Engineering design for Phase

I is well underway, with construction scheduled to commence in this year, and Phase I commercial operations scheduled for 2015.

Clothing store names new manager

Buckle, Inc. has announced that Keenan Beasley has been named manager of the Buckle store located in Clovis' North Plains Mall.

Beasley has been with the company since 2010. He was a management trainee at the Lubbock Buckle location before his new position. He is a graduate of Texas Tech University, with a bachelor's degree in hospitality.

Headquartered in Kearney, Neb., the Buckle operates 431 stores in 43 states.
