Press release: Seven people face felony charges after drug bust in Clovis

During the course of the last three days, Agents assigned to the Region V Drug Task Force have arrested seven individuals and seized $3,000 of cocaine, $5000 in cash currency, a custom motorcycle, a semi-automatic firearm, marijuana and methamphetamine.

On February 28th, Agents arrested Michael Dickson (31 YOA) and Betty Garza (36 YOA) after the two conspired to smuggle methamphetamine and marijuana into the Curry County Detention Center, where Dickson is currently housed as an inmate. Task Force Agents intercepted the delivery prior to it reaching the detention center. Both have been charged with distribution of marijuana, conspiracy to distribute marijuana, and conspiracy to bring contraband into a jail. Garza was also charged with trafficking methamphetamine. Both were booked into the Curry County Detention Center. Garza is being held on a $65,000 bond and Dickson is being held on a $40,000 bond.

On February 29th, Task Force Agents arrested Kelly Jaramillo (45 YOA) and Amado Leal (34 YOA) at a hotel on Mabry Drive after the two attempted to trade the title to a 2000 Titan custom motorcycle, a semi-automatic firearm and $5,000 cash in exchange for one "kilo" of methamphetamine. Both were charged with criminal solicitation, conspiracy to traffic a controlled substance and attempted trafficking of a controlled substance. Leal was also charged for being a felon in possession of a firearm. Both were booked into the Curry County Detention Center and held on $35,000 bonds.

On March 1st, Agents arrested Juan G. Rodriguez (37 YOA), April Gonzales (36 YOA) and Monica Rocha (21 YOA) at a hotel on Mabry Drive, after the three delivered thirty grams of cocaine to undercover agents. They have all been charged with trafficking cocaine and conspiracy to traffic cocaine. All three were booked into the Curry County Detention Center and held on $35,000 bonds.
