Press release: Yogurt facility holding groundbreaking

Clovis, New Mexico – A groundbreaking will take place for a yoghurt manufacturing facility on Friday, March 9th at 2:00 p.m. at Mid Frisian Dairy in Clovis, New Mexico. The yoghurt facility will be owned and operated by Andle and Sjierkje van der Ploeg and family and will produce “Freanna Original Yoghurt.

Freanna Original Yoghurt is a premium quality stir yoghurt, full of probiotics, packed with live and active cultures. Freanna Original Yoghurt is a rich source of calcium and protein. It does not contain artificial additives, preservatives, or high fructose corn syrup. At Freanna, its our mission to create a great-tasting, healthy yoghurt for all to enjoy.

“The idea to make and put Freanna yoghurt (made from our family recipe), on the market came to us when we realized we couldn’t purchase yoghurt in the States that tasted similar to what we had been making and eating in western Europe,” Andle van der Ploeg, owner of Freanna explained.

Because it is a family tradition to make and eat homemade yoghurt, the van der Ploegs decided to invest in a yoghurt manufacturing facility in Clovis. Through their passion and care of their dairy, their cows produce delicious and healthy milk, which in turn will allow them to offer consumers a delicious and healthy product… “Freanna Original Yoghurt”.

In naming their product, the van der Ploegs chose “Fre-” because of their homeland, Friesland, a province in the Netherlands, and “Anna” for one of their highest producing cows.

Production is scheduled to begin in the near future and consumers will soon have the opportunity to purchase “Freanna Original Plain Yoghurt”, a great low-calorie, smooth, mild-tasting yoghurt.
