Local papers capture awards

The Clovis News Journal captured five first place awards and various other honors in the annual Panhandle Press Association contest held in Canyon, Texas, it was announced Saturday.

Other awards included three second place awards and two third place honors.

Other CMI-owned newspapers taking honors at the contest included the Portales News-Tribune with a first and a third place and the Quay County Sun with two second place and three third place finishes.
