Clovis' Johon Rascon scores the Wildcats' second goal by a diving Ashton Degraff late in the first half Wednesday at Alamogordo. The Wildcats tacked on another goal in the second half and took a 3-1 victory.

They got their first win, and a little bit of revenge, by beating Alamogordo 3-1 on the road Wednesday afternoon.

Clovis (1-2) suffered a 2-0 defeat on Saturday at home against the Tigers.

"We kind of changed things up in the midfield and on defense, " Greg Trujillo said. "We went went to a flat 4 in the mid field , which opended up the field and allowed us to maintain possession."

Ramon Castillo struck first, when he headed in Lucas Donaldson's crossing pass from about 6 yards out in the 17th minute.

Johon Rascon tacked on a penalty kick goal after a handball call in the 35th minute.

The Wildcats got an insurance goal when Darrin Whitting scored on a breakaway after a lead pass from Darrian Carrera in the 70th minute.

The Tigers (3-1) spoiled Jesus Madrid's shutout bid in the 89th minute when Chris Rollison scored on a direct kick.

Trujillo noted the Wildcats did a great job of keeping tabs on Seth Reynolds, the Tigers' leading scorer.

Clovis will play Friday and Saturday in tournament action at Los Alamos.
