Class of 1963
Clovis High School Class of 1963 members celebrated the 50th anniversary of their graduation Sept. 20-21 in Clovis.
The group started off the weekend by cheering for the Wildcats in Friday’s football game against Cleveland. Returning Wildcats included several leaders of the 1963 football team, a number of varsity cheerleaders, and the head majorette of the marching band.
Saturday the alumni played golf, socialized at a Clovis coffee shop, re-lived old times at the drive-ins and Hillcrest Park in Clovis, and toured of the Rock and Roll Museum and Petty Recording Studios. In the evening, more than 95 alumni and guests celebrated with a dinner/social at Clovis Civic Center, also taking time to honor the memories of more than 25 deceased classmates.
Class members who live in Clovis and around the country planned and carried out the events. Most shared written stories of their lives in the last 50 years and photographs of pre-high school, during high school, and post-high school events and activities.
The 1963 graduates include present and former school administrators, teachers, and professors; NASA and Los Alamos Lab associates; church pastors and leaders; health care professionals; industry leaders and business owners; railroad employees and executives; and many with distinguished military service. While a number are still employed, many are retired and active, enjoying travel and family time while volunteering in their churches and communities from Hawaii to Massachusetts and Oregon to Florida.
