The cause of a Sunday fire that destroyed Muleshoe Vet Supply and Animal Clinic is still under investigation, according to Muleshoe Fire Marshal Benny Parker.
Parker said the fire’s point of origin has been narrowed to a heater closet in one of the offices in the building, and that the nature of the blaze appears to be accidental.
The fire started about 11:20 p.m. (CST) Sunday, and was not contained until around 1 p.m. Monday afternoon, according to Parker.
Two horses and five or six dogs and cats were killed during the blaze; No human injuries were reported.
The State Fire Marshal is assisting the Muleshoe Police with the investigation, Parker said.
