Diamonds are a girl’s best friend, but what does she love just as much? Her shoes of course.
A woman can never have too many pairs. There are just too many styles to choose from. So many jaw-dropping choices that even a person like myself who loathes long hours of shopping will spend a full day shopping for shoes.
For the most part my outfit depends on what shoes I decide to wear for the day.
In my last article, I spoke about bargain shopping and never paying full price for what I wear. But when it comes to shoes, I am more than willing to splurge. Still, it is definitely a plus when you snag the last pair in your size and even better when they are on sale.
I remember two years ago when one of my favorite designer shoe carriers was having a great sale. My family and I actually arrived early and waited outside for the doors to open along with 100 other women and their families.
Once inside in a hurried browsing, this young woman and I spotted the same shoes, one pair left. She looked at me, I looked at her. Who would be the first to grab them? I think we were both thinking the same thing. Would it be un-ladylike to dive in for them? I dared and I prevailed!
I still love them today as they sit artistically positioned on a shelf in my walk-in closet.
In my 20s, I was all about platform pumps. But my current favorite picks are a sharp-pointed toe classic pump, pointed toe flats, wedges and ankle boots (booties). I love my pumps the most but they are not the most work friendly. I substitute them with my wedges so If I were to step on a crack there may not be the serious repercussions of skinned knees or the face meeting the ground.
No matter if they kill your feet when you walk or put a dent in your account, shoes will always be one of the most adored by many.
