The day crew of the Public Works Department Street Maintenance section prepares Wednesday afternoon for a winter storm that is expected in Clovis today. Assistant Supervisor Joel Garcia said two crews will operate on 12-hour shifts —  7 a.m. to 7 p.m. — applying a salt and lava cinder blend to the city streets, which will provide a melting agent and traction.
