A 63-year-old Clovis man has been ordered to pay Clovis $20,000 by next week as part of his sentence for stealing, then reselling city-owned milk tanks.
Sentenced Thursday, a jury convicted Thomas Campbell in October of felony receipt of stolen property after prosecutors said he sold city-owned milk tanks to a Texas milk plant, according to a press release.
City officials provided statements there had been a public negotiation to purchase the tanks, but it had stalled and shortly after it was discovered they had been taken, according to a press release from the district attorney’s office.
If Campbell does not pay as ordered, he will face up to three years imprisonment, the release said.
