Stop calling

Clovis police tell us pre-registration has ended for the Kids and Cops basketball tournament.
They’ve already filled all available slots for the event.

You can, however, still come watch local kids take on police beginning at 11:30 a.m. at Clovis High School gymnasium, known around these parts as The Rock.

Free lunch

La Casa Family Health Center is operating the Portales Summer Lunch Program now  through July 29.

The program provides free lunches to youth age 18 and younger.

Lunches are noon to 1 p.m. Monday through Friday at Lindsey Park, Morrison Park, City Park, Rotary Park, Buena Vida Park and Cannon Meadows.

Lunches can also be provided to church camps, Bible schools and any organization offering recreational and day care services for children.
