Samplings of recent calls received by Clovis-area law enforcement officers, according to reports:
Around 2 p.m. July 18 an officer responded to a business in the 1000 block of Mabry Drive for a theft report.
A manager said a hotel guest was accusing a housekeeper of stealing an earring from her room.
The woman told the officer she placed a pair of diamond earrings beside the TV and left the room. When she returned about three hours later, she said one of the earrings was missing.
The woman who had cleaned the room said she emptied the trash and made the beds and couldn’t remember if she vacuumed, but she said she did not remember seeing any jewelry in the room and locked the door behind her when she left.
Replacement value of the earring pair was estimated at around $900.

Around 10 p.m. July 18 officers responded to an undisclosed residence for a report of a loud party.
As officers approached the house they noted empty beer cans and cups and several people were seen darting into the house as they arrived.
Officers knocked and after several minutes an 18-year-old girl answered but refused to allow them inside so officers requested a warrant and waited outside.
Once a warrant was obtained, officers found five underage people and a felon, who had absconded from probation. They also found paraphernalia and evidence marijuana had been smoked.
Two adults and five juveniles were arrested.

About 10 p.m. July 18 an officer was dispatched to the emergency room at the hospital for a report of battery.
A teen said he and three companions were sitting in a parking lot near 21st and Prince Streets. He was tossing juice boxes to some friends.
He said when a car occupied by two males drove through he threw a juice box their direction, too. He said the occupants of the car took offense so he and his companions drove out of the parking lot.
The teen said the other car followed them. They drove back to the same parking lot and the two males got out and confronted him and three other teens, then one reached through the driver’s window and punched him. The other man opened the passenger door and started hitting another teen.
He said he drove straight to the hospital because the passenger had a large cut on his face.
The boys parents told the officer they did not want to press charges.
The officer took a report for documentation purposes.
