STEPHENVILLE, Texas — Eastern New Mexico University senior Kyle Roberts teamed with Jake Cobb of Weatherford (Texas) College to place second in the team roping average, after splitting first and second in the first go with a time of 5.9 seconds and winning the short go at 9.3 seconds in the Tarleton State Rodeo over the weekend.

That effort gave Roberts and Cobb the Southwest Region team roping championship and qualified them for the College National Finals Rodeo, scheduled for mid-June in Casper, Wyo. ENMU’s men finished fourth as a team in the event
