The National Association of Letter Carriers is gearing up for its 17th annual food drive May 4-9.
Andres Montoya, coordinator of the drive in Clovis, said last year’s drive netted 8,647 pounds as part of a nationwide drive that gathered more than 73 million pounds.
Montoya said this year’s goal is 12,000 pounds.
Nonperishable food items can be left by or in mailboxes on May 9, Montoya said, and donations can be brought to any post office between May 4 and May 9.
