Parents, educators, therapists and others involved in special education are encouraged to learn more about the annual Assistive Technology Conference scheduled for May 4 and 5 in Albuquerque.

The conference, hosted by the New Mexico Technology Assistance Program, offers important information about assistive technology services and devices. These services and technology can provide people with disabilities the accommodations they need, and are entitled to, for education, employment and independence.

“The New Mexico Public Education Department is committed to providing the best education possible for students with special needs,” Secretary of Education Veronica C. García said. “Families of students with special needs should take the time to investigate the latest technology and services highlighted at this event.”
