A Portales man was arrested by the Roosevelt County Sheriff Department on Thursday for drug trafficking.
Victor Moreno, 30, was detained by the border patrol and later charged by the sheriff office for trafficking a controlled substance — cocaine, which is a second-degree felony, according to Chief Deputy Malin Parker.
Police found a small amount of cocaine found, packaging materials, scales and U.S. currency in the residence at 1226 N. Abilene St.
Moreno is not a U.S. citizen, Parker said.
