Ean Wagner scored 26 points, and hit the go-ahead 3-pointer with :50 left in overtime, as Abilene Christian outlasted Eastern New Mexico University 71-65 in a Lone Star Conference matchup Wednesday at Greyhound Arena.
Dante Adams scored 14 and Cameron Holson 13 for the Wildcats, who staved off a late Greyhound rally.
Wagner gave the Wildcats a 61-58 lead on a layup with 1:10 to go, but the Greyhounds tied matters on the next possession, as Dannon Wafer’s offensive rebound led to a trey by Jimmie Marshall with 46 seconds left.
Brandon Wilson scored 17 to lead three Greyhounds (4-23, 0-12 LSC) in double figures in their season finale.
The Greyhounds led by as much as 11 midway through the first, but the Wildcats (9-16, 3-8) closed out the first half on an 8-0 run.
Tommy York scored 12, while Equs Darby flirted with a double-double (11 points, nine rebounds). Wafer had a game-high 10 boards and added eight points.

Audrey Maxwell-Riley had 18 points to lead five Wildcats in double figures, as Abilene Christian ended the Zias’ season with an 85-70 win Wednesday night at Greyhound Arena.
Kelsey Darby scored eight of her 10 points in a 10-2 run to open the second half, turning what had been a tight contest into a 49-40 lead.
Following the second-half run, the Zias (9-21, 0-12) cut the lead to five on a Til-Lois Fifer 3-pointer, but ACU responded with a 17-3 run to put the game on ice.
The Wildcats (18-9, 8-3 Lone Star Conference) jumped out to a 24-14 lead midway through the first half on a Darby fastbreak layup, but the Zias responded with a 14-4 run later to recapture the lead.
Cat Clay and Karen Grant each scored 14 to lead the Zias, while Lace Clark added eight points and a team-high five rebounds.
Jamie Neyer scored 16 points, Jamie Neyer 15 and Kristee Davidson added 11 for the Wildcats.
