Fugitive murder suspect Noe Torres said Tuesday he is refusing an invitation from police to talk.

“If I wanted to speak with them I would be calling them and not you,” Torres told a CNJ reporter Tuesday, in his latest telephone call to the newspaper. Torres, who has been on the run more than three years, has called the newspaper more than a half dozen times since December.

During a one-hour telephone call, Torres argued with a CNJ reporter, who refused to coordinate a conference call between him and two girls who testified against him during murder trials of three co-defendants.

Torres said what happens to him is in God’s hands. He compared his situation to the biblical story of Jesus’ arrest in the garden after being betrayed by Judas.
