Notes: The Mustangs were the LSC’s hottest team before falling 67-61 on Wednesday at West Texas A&M, ending a 10-game winning streak. Their previous loss was a 56-55 decision at Northeastern State in mid-December. … Midwestern is 8-1 at home, losing only to Dallas Baptist in the season opener. The Mustangs average 85 points on their home floor, compared with around 71 on the road. … Midwestern shoots 47 percent from the field, including 41 percent on 3-pointers. … The Mustangs swept the Hounds last season and now lead the all-time series 15-14, including 8-5 in Wichita Falls. … Nolan Richardson, grandson of the former Arkansas and Tulsa coach, leads the Mustangs with a 19.4 scoring average. The 6-foot-2 senior G also has 73 assists, shoots 89 percent from the free throw line (88-of-99) and is the team’s best 3-point shooter (53-for-139, 38 percent). Also in double figures is 6-2 junior G Craig Green (11.8 ppg).

Notes: First-year MSU coach Noel Johnson played at Texas Tech from 1991-95, and was a member of the Lady Raiders’ 1993 NCAA national championship team. ENMU coach Linden Weese was an assistant at Tech during those years. … ENMU is trying to snap a four-game losing streak. … The teams split last season, Midwestern winning at home 70-54 while ENMU ended the season with a 75-56 victory in Portales. … The Mustangs are 5-2 at home, winning those games by a total of 16 points. Their lone road win in 10 tries came at Cameron (71-54). … Regianne Araujo, a 6-4 senior C from Sao Paulo, Brazil, leads Midwestern at 14.1 ppg and 10 rpg, and shoots 53 percent from the floor. Also in double figures is 5-10 junior F Andrea Buben (10.6 ppg), the team’s top 3-point threat (32-of-104). … The Mustangs have won four of their last seven after a 2-8 start.
