Notes: The Pioneers moved from the South Division to the North this season. … Texas Woman’s swept last year’s series from the Zias, winning 71-51 in Portales and 65-48 in Denton. Despite that, ENMU leads the all-time matchup 25-13. … Renee Renz, a 6-foot senior F, scored an LSC-record 63 points in the Pioneers’ 147-143, four-overtime loss at Abilene Christian on Monday, the third-most points in a game all-time for a woman at any level of NCAA play. The teams’ 290 combined points established an NCAA record and, according to the school’s web site, stories have been published on the game in the New York Times, Boston Globe and Dallas Morning News. CNN and ESPN have also run pieces. … Renz then played all 40 minutes and had 26 points and 12 rebounds to lead the Pioneers to a 93-88 upset of No. 6 West Texas A&M on Thursday. TWU also got 23 points in 38 minutes from 5-9 freshman G Jessica Hanna and 21 in 37 minutes from 5-5 junior G Keisha Bolds. … Renz, who transferred last year from Division I Ark.-Little Rock, is averaging 25.4 points and 12.8 rebounds, while Hanna is scoring 10.8 ppg. … Renz started 58 of 59 games in her time at UALR. … After today, the Zias’ remaining 12 games are in the South. They open at Abilene Christian on Tuesday.
