Samplings of recent calls received by Clovis-area law enforcement officers, according to reports:

About 1 p.m. Dec. 27 an officer responded to a business in the 3000 block of Prince Street for a battery report.

A store employee said two men had an altercation inside the store.

One of the men told the officer he was looking at some merchandise and a man he knew came up and punched him in the neck.

The man said he didn’t want to file any charges.

The other man told the officer the incident occurred the other way around and that it was the other man who approached and hit him in the face.

He said after he left the store, he was attacked by the man’s  family members but that he didn’t want to report the crime.

The case was cleared due to lack of cooperation.

About 5 a.m. Dec. 28 an officer was dispatched to the emergency room at the hospital for a battery report.

A man with a puncture wound to his cheek said he was jumped by three males as he left a store on Prince Street.

He said the wound was caused by a knife but would not tell the officer anything more and became uncooperative.

Officers discovered the man had two outstanding warrants and transported him to the jail.

About 5 p.m. Dec. 29 an officer responded to the 1700 block of Seventh Street for a burglary report.

A man said he walked out of a nearby business and saw a male subject going through his vehicle and removing things.

When he confronted the male, he said the individual threw the items he had taken and left.

Nothing was stolen.

The man said his vehicle was locked but the suspect gained entry through an open rear window.

About 10 p.m. Dec. 30 an officer on patrol in the area of 12th and Oak Streets saw a man exit a known drug house and collapse on the ground.

The officer stopped and checked on the subject, noting he appeared intoxicated and possibly under the influence of narcotics.

The subject would only tell the officer his first name and cursed at him.

The 21-year-old was arrested for concealing his identity.
