Clovis Quilter’s Club
The Clovis Quilter’s Club met Oct. 13 at Trinity Lutheran Church with 13 members present.
Sheryl Abdill called the meeting to order.
Pat Hensley gave the treasurer’s report. Next year’s officers were elected, with Brenda Harpold as president and Beth Franks as treasurer.
The High Plains Quilt Festival was discussed. Plans were made for the Christmas party.
Jeanetta Mesner presented the block of the month.
Amy Armenta had the sewing machine for the mystery block.
Forms for the Curry County Centennial Cookbook were handed out.
Show and tell items were shared.
Armenta won the charity plus blocks and Gayle Telshaw won the fat quarter drawing Harpold gave the program on quilt storage.
The next meeting will be Nov. 10.

Fairfield Club
.Fairfield Club held a meeting at 10 a.m. Oct 24.
Hosts were Jo Mae Prist and Martha Watkins.
Sharon Ragland called the meeting to order. We finalized plans for a Nov. 20 banquet.
Fairfield Club is doing table decorations.
Tickets were sold for the banquet.
Dues were collected for next year.
We discussed items you can make with yo-yos.
New officers were selected. Voted to donate to the food bank. 12 members were present.
The next meeting date is 10 a.m. Oct 14 at Mary Dell’s home.
Llano Estacado Quilt Guild
The Llano Estacado Quilt Guild met Oct. 25 at Trinity Lutheran Church with 15 members and four guest attending.
President Elizabeth Lawrence called the meeting to order.
Leigh Reynolds gave the treasurer’s report.
Reports were given from charity projects:
• Hartley House baby quilts
• Hospice lap quilts
• operation home front quilts
• blue star banners.
Highlights were given from Tucumcari Vintage Quilters Quilt Show, Ogallala Festival, Roswell Quilt Show and High Plains Quilt Festival.
Workshops taught by the following were discussed: Jean Dean, Marilyn Ford, Sally Schneider and Amy Armenta.
Judy Matthews reported on plans for the 2009 Quilt Show.
The meeting adjourned and members shared their show and tell items.
For the program, June Phillips helped the group make cloth greeting cards.
The group took a break to enjoy a potluck meal.

Chaparral Extension Club
The Chaparral Extension Club met Oct. 23 at the extension building with 10 members present.
The meeting was called to order by President Sheryl Abdill.
Sylvia Gonzales read the devotional.
Dorothy Bean gave the treasurer’s report and dues were collected.
Election of officers were held: president, Sheryl Abdill, vice president, Jeanetta Mesner, secretary, June Phillips and treasurer, Dorothy Bean.

• Roosevelt County Extension Christmas Showcase, Nov. 17-18
• Curry County annual banquet, Nov. 20.
Chaparral meeting for rest of the year were finalized.
Lois Lewis and Jean Skaggs were hostesses.
June Phillips shared her cloth postcards and greeting cards for the program.
The next meeting will Nov. 13 at K-Bob’s.
