Military Institute accepting applications

New Mexico’s Military Institute is accepting applications for the fall semester through the end of July, according to a press release.

The fall semester begins Aug. 19 for high school cadets and Aug. 20 for junior college cadets.

Outreach program recieves funding

The University of New Mexico’s College Enrichment and Outreach program was awarded a $51,611 grant from the Department of Energy, according to a press release.

The grant will be used to implement a summer camp for Hispanic youth to help prepare them for higher education.

UNM will use the grant to work with the League of Latin American Citizens’ leadership program to create a high school summer camp opened to 50 sophomore and junior Hispanic students and will focus on leadership exercises and college readiness training.
