Clovis Quilter’s Club
The Clovis Quilter’s Club met June 9 at Trinity Lutheran Church with 19 members present.
Sherry Abdill called the meeting to order.
Reminders were give on the Guild Meeting and Shop Hop.
Reports were given by those who attended the Ogallala Teacher’s Workshop.
Joyce Pemberton furnished the Block of the Month.
Amy Armenta presented the Pin Cushion Block for the mystery block.
Brenda Harpold talked about cleaning quilts.
Amy Armenta reported that 406 Operation Homefront quilts have been sent out.
Show and tell items were shared.
Sheryl Abdill won the Charity Plus Blocks and Veronica Goff won the Fat Quarter Drawing.
The Round Robin vests were passed on to other club members. Veronica Goff demonstrated how to make a appliquéd double wedding ring quilts using Quilt Smart kits.
The next meeting will be July 14 and Amy Armenta will present a program on Origami.

Altrusa International
Altrusa International of Clovis met at 6 p.m. June 10 at Muffley’s Back Door.
Hostesses were Carolyn Muffley, Carolyn Sherman and Nancy Taylor.
The club met for the installation of officers.
Following a meal, a short discussion was held on the new format of the year book and a date was set for a garage sale on July 16.
The following officers were installed by Carolyn Muffley, president, Mary Weigl, vice president, Amanda Nutt, secretary, Kathy Travis, treasurer, Jenn Koonsman, and board of directors, Carolyn Sherman, Sylvia Bean and Leslie McCloud.
The next meeting will be held at noon on June 24 at Muffley’s Back Door.
Those attending are suggested to bring a sack lunch for the business meeting.
