A Clovis man who failed to return from a medical furlough from jail earlier this week was captured late Thursday night, according to the district attorney.
Jonathon Shane May, 32, was arrested without incident about 11 p.m. on Dawn Loop, District Attorney Matt Chandler said.
A warrant was issued for May on Wednesday when he failed to check in at the Curry County Adult Detention Center following a dentist appointment, officials said.
District Judge Stephen Quinn, who on Tuesday sentenced May to five years imprisonment for drug trafficking, had authorized May’s mother to transport him to a dentist for a tooth extraction, Chandler said previously.
Following the procedure, May was expected to turn himself in to the jail, he said.
A crime stopper tip led police to May Friday morning, Chandler said.
May, who was arrested for trafficking methamphetamine in October, was to serve his prison sentence in Los Lunas.
