A 26-year-old Clovis woman was stabbed Tuesday night during a dispute, according to police.
The victim was treated for multiple non-life-threatening wounds at Plains Regional Medical Center, according to police
Tchicaya Williams, 26, is charged with aggravated battery and tampering with evidence. She is being held at the Curry County Adult Detention Center on $11,000 bond, jail officials said.
Police Capt. Patrick Whitney said around 9:30 p.m. police were called to the Clovis Apartments in the 1000 block of Martin Luther King Boulevard for a public affray.
According to initial reports, a group of people started advancing on Williams and she stabbed at them with a knife, Whitney said.
“You still can’t bring a knife to a fist fight. You can’t just stab somebody because they’re physically threatening you,” Whitney said, explaining if it was a case of self-defense, that should be determined through the court process.
